The Department of English empowers students “to observe, to express, to explore” by training them to understand the world through perceptive reading, and to express themselves through incisive writing. Each academic year, the department works to ensure that every student is ready for placement programmes and is professionally fit. For our students to become familiar with the course and the curriculum, we provide a variety of orientation programmes and bridging courses. The Department of English is actively involved in the college's co-curricular pursuits. The English department is always a major contributor to departmental and intercollegiate festivals, trips, webinars, and lectures. The department's English language programme is geared towards helping students become proficient in using the language for academic and professional purposes so they may participate in global discourse communities.
